Can you guess who's next on our list?
The clue is in the title... Yes, the next poll for you to choose another guest for our lockdown dinner party, is for the ultimate quiz master.
Something Joy and I have been doing to pass the time during lockdown, is take part in quizzes, complete crossword puzzles, and listen to the old time radio quiz shows on RUSC to keep the old grey matter ticking over.
Quiz shows became a popular format on radio during the 1930s. The amount of prize money offered varied hugely from the 68 cents per correct answer given to contestants on Don’t Forget, through to $30,000 for the winner on Hollywood Calling.
With quick witted tomfoolery and fun shows such as It Pays To Be Ignorant, to the high-brow intelligence of Information Please, the lightning wit of Groucho Marx with You Bet Your Life, some pretty strange forfeits in Truth or Consequences, and my personal favorite, Quiz Kids, along with many more quiz series, there have been some fabulous quiz masters over the years.
The big question now is... Who is your favorite? All you have to do, is make your choice in the poll over to the right, as to which old time radio quiz master you would most like to invite to share our table at the perfect isolation dinner party.
I figured this would be great time for us to have a little fun too, with an old time radio quiz to test your knowledge of the quiz masters and quizzes of days gone by.
The quiz is open to everyone, whether they're a member or not, so do feel free to share it with your friends! You can complete the quiz at:-

Lastly, Joy wanted to remind you that we have a radio station on RUSC which is 100% dedicated to quiz shows and trivia! You can listen now at:-

P.S. As I mentioned in my last note to you, I'm so terribly nosey that I'd love for you to share your thoughts on who you chose in the poll and why, in the comments below...
P.P.S. Keep checking into RUSC regularly, as I'll be adding a new poll with suggested house guests every couple of days.
