Brand New Series to RUSC - Mr Chameleon!

After the great comments we've been receiving about the latest 'missing' shows Joy and I have been adding, here's another brand new series, requested by our lovely friend of RUSC, Mary!

Created by Frank and Anne Hummert (creators of Mr Keen: Tracer of Missing Persons and many other series), Mr Chameleon, as the name suggests, was a master of disguise, who changed his appearance with every episode, in order to track down suspects, murderers and fraudsters.

The weekly half-hour adventures of Mr Chameleon were played by one of the most popular actors around - Karl Swenson - whose voice could be heard all over the airwaves during the late 30s and 40s, in scores of daytime serials such as Lorenzo Janes, and mystery dramas such as Inner Sanctum Mysteries.

"A college man, he tried from childhood to live up to the name he bore - Chameleon - by taking on the color of whatever situation in which he found himself, appearing in endless guises, finally entering the police force, where he became known as Chameleon - the man of many faces, and the underworld's most dreaded man. The listener invariably knows who Mr Chameleon is, no matter which disguise he assumes, but the criminal he is striking down, seldom does."
Show Opening for Mr Chameleon

Mr Chameleon began its five year CBS run on July 14, 1948 and reached the top ten as CBS's most popular Wednesday night show in the 1950-1951 rankings, before the series finally came to an end in August 1953.

Happy listening my friends,

Ned Norris
