America's Day Of Independence

Joy and I have put together a wonderful collection of shows relating to the Fourth of July for your listening enjoyment. Be sure to listen to The Frances Langford Show, Holly's First Country Club Dance, which includes a medley of the songs of George M. Cohan to celebrate July Fourth including Yankee Doodle Dandy.

On the Fourth I will be adding a wonderful patriotic episode of Destination Freedom, which was broadcast in 1950 and invites you to follow Paul Revere along the road to destination freedom. Great men throughout the centuries such as Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin are brought together in a discussion on human rights and their words are as important today as ever they were.

The episode concludes with a prayer composed by Voltaire two centuries ago that might well have been written for the 20th century and indeed the present day. I am sure you will enjoy the story as much as Joy and I did and would recommend it as food for thought as we celebrate our liberty this Fourth July.

Happy Listening my friends
