A Poem From Minneapolis

A few months back I received a wonderful little poem from a long-standing member of RUSC. I printed it out and stuck it on my computer-room wall, but I thought it would be nice to share it with you all. So without further ado ...

Old-Time Radio

When I sit down of an evening
And my mind commences dreaming
Over all the things that happened - all that life has held in store

THEN I reach for my computer
Sometimes Sage and Sometimes Tutor
And I click the RUSC linking back to Days of Yore.

THEN our lives were not so hectic
Then we were not so dyspeptic
And we all knew that the Shadow or the Saint would make all right

Orson Welles might terrify us
Ming of Mongo scarify us
But Superman and all the rest were quick to save us from our plight.

So now as War is ever-looming
I will not spend my hours glooming
Wondering if I or my children shall live to see the morning’s light

You’ll find me at Duffy’s Tavern
Or sometimes the Hermit’s Cavern
Or with Jack, and Doc, and Reggie as they Battle for the Right!

Thank you for adding a more cultured tone to things around here, Cassandra.

I'm sure many of you agree with the sentiments that are expressed above. The world can seem a little daunting at the moment, can't it? If these marvelous audio gems of days gone by can put a smile on your face, entertain you for a few minutes, or transport you off to far away lands then all I can say is ...

... happy listening my friends,
