After Abner was removed from office as Notary Public Lum decided it was time to appeal to the town council and urged the alderman to remove the stigma that Pine Ridge was run poorly. Something must be done to prove that the little city was really progressive. However in trying to do this Lum found out that the alderman had failed to hold meetings during the last two years and that the mayor had moved away and left the town with no one in office whereupon citizen Lum determined to do something about this deplorable situation.
