Minnie Maxwell former world tennis champion is all washed up at he age of 27. She can't seem to hit a decent backhand. Some people sell their soul to the devil but Minnie has sold her backhand to the devil. She can't sleep so she takes pills to help her but then she still can't hit the backhand. She's tired and depressed and desperate and feels the only choice she has is take all the pills and lay down to die.
