Mary arrives by train home to her whistle-stop town from Chicago. Mary is doing all right in Chicago and is wearing mink. She has come home to sell her house but her arrival causes trouble between two old boyfriends, gambler Keeny Veech and nightclub owner Lew Lentz. They each compete for her affections but things go too far when Gitlo who works in Lew’s bar gets Kenny involved in stealing from Lew Lentz and Lew retaliates by framing Veech for murder.
