What Makes Murder

What Makes Murder

Broadcast: 7th April 1948
Starring: Bill Johnstone
Added: Sep 05 2001
Murder is a peculiar affair. It’s the darkest most despicable of all crimes. Yet it strikes most frequently among the ranks of people who have never transgressed before. Yes all it needs in most cases is the right pressure; the right set of circumstances the right opportunity and an otherwise respectable member of the community becomes a killer. If you’d tried to explain that to Arthur Wilmslow he wouldn’t have understood for Arthur was respectable, solid exactly like the hundred other respectable solid Jersey commuters. His life was a pretty drab affair including the dull days at the office JC Wells & Co investment brokers.
