Abner is in the Jot 'Em Down store waiting on Grandpappy Speirs. Before he leaves he has a message for Lum from Doc Withers but Lum is at home reading about perfumery in preparation of his new business. It turns out that there is more to making perfume than Lum thought and it all seems a little complicated. Maybe Lum needs to think of  another business to invest his money in.
