The Lone Ranger and Tonto brought their horses to a stop at sunset, and looked from the highest point on a long ridge into the valley to the west. They were at Big Ridge, and were expecting to find Dorothy's brother in a cave just to the west of the ridge. The Lone Ranger went on ahead, and then suddenly fell from the saddle as a shot rang out!
