It was earlier than usual when Brit Reid, young publisher of the Daily Sentinel entered the outer office and spoke to his secretary. George Meadows of the Washington office was on the trail of something hot and needed to speak to Reid urgently. When he couldn’t get hold of Reid he went out and said he would be back by 11 o’clock and would call Reid back then. But, he never made it back, he was found murdered…
