He had first spotted Therese Germaine fragile and delicate selling some guy a gold cigarette case in one of the best jewelry stores on the Rue de la Paix. He then spent a month wining and dining her and ignoring the stuff in the showcases as though it didn’t exist. Then one day she insisted on showing him some pearls, exactly what he had been after, pearls with a value of seventy five thousand dollars. He deliberately dropped them and stooped to pick them up and in the process swapping them for a sting worth a hundred bucks. His plan was complete he would never have to see her again and intended to leave Paris the next day but then she turned up at his apartment…
