In the Waltz of Death Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson find themselves in Vienna on a case. Out here on foreign territory and completely outside the orthodox methods of the English police Holmes had freer reign. He still used his brilliant sense of deducting logic but now he did not have to worry about reprimands from Scotland Yard, and besides there was new excitement for Holmes when he could deal with murder from other than the English criminal.
