He tells Johnny Dollar that a woman named Virginia Towne stole it from his dresser at a party. He didn’t stop her or report it to the police, as he wanted to give her a chance to return it. When Dollar confronts her Virginia Towne tells him that Underwood had given her the jewellery as gifts.
