Lum is still carrying around his fifteen hundred dollar check he got from selling the house he hadn't even finished building yet. He has decided he is going to use it for capital stock when he decides just whaqt he wants to get in to next. Abner advises him to pay it in to the bank before he loses it. Lum can't get hold of any building supplies so can't build the office for Grandpappy Spiers friend Doc Withers, but he doesn't know how to tell Grandpap for fear that Grandpap will sue him for breaking the deal. Lum gets himself in to a bigger pickle!
