Sussex County, the most southerly of Delaware's three counties, is a land rich in tradition, and the site of one of the earliest settlements of the North American continent. Our story tells of one of these settlements, Swaanendael, a brief chapter of almost forgotten history, when Pieter Plockhoy led early settlers into the wilderness.
