France in the 15th century, Louis XI sits on the throne. Francois VI, played by Dennis Morgan, sits by the fire in a Paris tavern. The conversation gets rather involved and he moves to the open door. He passes a comment to his companion that two hooded strangers are approaching the tavern. One of those mysterious strangers is none other than King Louis XI in disguise. Suddenly, intrigue fills the air.
