Unsolved Murder of Elizabeth Short

Elizabeth Short, 22 years of age known as the Black Dahlia was found dead in a vacant lot in Los Angeles on Wednesday January 15th, 1947. The police believe that she had been held prisoner and tortured by a sadistic pervert for some time before death. No trace of her clothing had ever been found. As many as 23 people confessed to her murder but without collaborating evidence the case remained unsolved.
