In this comedy Ray Milland plays his original 1947 Paramount Pictures screen role of Professor Gilbert Sedley who has written a book on the subjugation of women. As professor of psychology at Midwest University he has proved conclusively that the human female harbors an unconscious desire to be dominated and occasionally beaten by the human male.
Martha Motherly is a newspaper columnist who writes damningly on his findings and Sedley files a lawsuit! Kate Farrel who writes under the pseudonym of Martha Motherly has to go back to university to try to prove that Sedley does hit women so that her article isn’t slanderous.
