If the law was going to lock up people like Homer Tisdale whose only crime was to steal a couple of potatoes in hungry desperation then Dillon figured they wouldn’t need people like him working for them. When the store owner Van Walcott doesn’t get the justice he is looking for and then the stage office is robbed and a man killed the store owner who witnessed the killing points the finger at Homer Tisdale. However there is more to his reason for blaming Tisdale.

Thank goodness for Marshall matt Dillon who always uncovers the truth.
