It's May 6th 1802, and in the charred and gutted city of San Domingo, people have been gathering in the town square, with a cherished dream in their hearts. For twelve years, the people have been fighting for their freedom. Can their liberty be won across the conference table in the struggle between European Imperialism and its enslaved people of Haiti? All are fervently hoping that the negotiations will bring the negroes of San Domingo the complete and guaranteed abolition of slavery by the peaceful method of discussion and compromise.
