Two weeks ago Peter Hawk had been put to death by the electric chair convicted of murder on evidence of the Shadow. Now as Lamont Cranston arrives home tired and weary he finds Hawk’s brother Lucious Hawk in his apartment issuing him a threat that if he doesn’t deliver him the Shadow within the next 12 hours he will kill him.
