For several hours, a gang of men had been digging around the supports of a bridge across the Black River. Then strong ropes were attached to the timbers and hitched to a dozen draught horses. Finally, the men cracked a whip to spur the horses into action, and the bridge was torn from its groundings. A few minutes later, and the Lone Ranger and Tonto spot the bridge, drifting down stream and manage to haul it to the shore to secure it. The bridge has always been important to the cattlemen west of the river, so the Lone Ranger is very suspicious about why it has come loose...
