Mr. Armstrong is worried because Ella has hired a mysterious man who had been around earlier knocking on doors. He decides to wait around and check out the man for himself, but when he turns up Mr. Armstrong realizes he need not have worried as Howard Wilton is little more than a boy. However, Ella's dog takes an instant dislike to the young man and it isn't long before Ella starts to have second opinions herself. There is certainly something peculiar about Howard Wilton.
