As a seasoned private detective, Mike Shayne is hardly surprised at anything. Puzzled yes - but rarely surprised. But this evening Mike is very puzzled, along with his trim and lovely assistant Phyllis. We join them as Mike's car grinds to a stop outside the home of shipping magnate, Captain Tire, an old brownstone mansion overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
