Jim Anderson receives a tie with a painted lion on it in a purple jungle. He thinks its ghastly but Bud really likes it. Jim has no idea where the tie has come from or who would send him such a gift as Bud has ended up burning the wrapping which Cathy had used to cut out paper dolls. When their neighbor tells them that she is missing a delivery of a handpainted present for her husband they assume that the tie was meant for her but Jim has given the tie away. Oh dear now he needs to get it back somehow.
