This is a wonderful, moving story about the relationship between a small boy called David Verne and his mother told through the eyes of Miss Anna who was employed to look after David. When little David doesn't get the attention he craves from his mother with the help of his caring loving nanny he begins writing letters to his mother. When little David lonely without the affection of his busy family goes missing, Mr and Mrs Verne read his last letter and realise how they have lost sight of the important things.
