Katherine Ford sits in the library of the Ford mansion and ponders over the past. For 12 years now, Katherine has been the wife of Andrew Ford, a wealthy manufacturer. Andrew Ford is now retired and spending his time and money collecting gems. He has a daughter Alice whose mother died a few years after Alice was born. Alice is a lovely girl. Katherine wonders what her own child would have been like at the age of 20. Katherine had a child 20 years ago, a child she hasn't seen in 19 years. She never told Andrew about any of her past, and now, her past may just catch up with her.
