These Freedoms

This is the first chapter in the story of women who have helped to develop the American way of life. Today tells the part that women have played in the great heritage of freedom. Freedom of worship, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly. Early America itself faced the issue of freedom. Back in 1637, in a little wooden meeting house near Massachusetts Bay, a grey haired woman, a mother of fourteen children, faced a council of stern faced, Puritan elders. Ann Hutchinson was to be tried for troubling the peace of the colonies, commonwealth and churches...
