Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States of America and served in the White House from 1901 to 1909. This story happened in 1905 during the Russo-Japanese war. Roosevelt’s success as peacemaker between the warring nations was one of his greatest achievements. Practically single-handed he arranged, directed and brought to a successful conclusion the Portsmouth Peace Conference.
