Not too many years ago an ingenious inventor by the name of Alexander Dumas Bell invented the telephone. This is an instrument, which makes it possible for two people to talk to each other even though they may be some distance apart. It’s done with wires and the telephone turned out to be a pretty popular gadget. In fact so many people acquired telephones there just wasn’t wire enough to give everyone a private line, so some people have party lines.
