Bob Murphy opens the show, introducing the guest stars for the evening's performance, the stars of stage and screen, Tallulah Bankhead and Donald Cook. The duo are currently starring in Noel Coward's acclaimed comedy, Private Lives, and when the Tallulah was asked if she would appear on Guest Star she not only accepted, but also arranged for permission to perform a scene from Private Lives itself, which is how the show opens.
