A box of poison chocolates, one piece killed a cat then Mr Jonas gave the box to Melville Bond his publisher who needed a present for his wife’s birthday. However before Bond ever got home he tasted a piece or two him self and lived though lately to regret it. The rest of the candy had been left forgotten at the office until poor unsuspecting secretary Miss Smith satisfied her appetite for sweets forever. Indirect, but it’ still murder and George Valentine wants to know where the box came from in the first place…
