Mrs Spears has come to see Dr Christian about the charity bazaar when Miss Homequist the famous Opera singer whom Dr Christian met four years ago in Minneapolis arrives in Rivers End for a rest for a rest before her concert season opens. Miss Homequist agrees to perform at the charity bazaar but when a cold beckons Susan sees her opportunity to make an impression and begs Dr Christian to tell Miss Homequist that she mustn’t risk hurting her voice so that she can sing.
