Ned Crater and old man Siderow are having a row. Siderow has more than enough hay to see his stock through the winter but refuses to help Crater out with a couple of bales to see him through. Joshua Siderow is the meanest man in town and is selling his hay for twice what it is worth. Later Joshua Siderow discovers his son dead.
