The story begins with Noah and Madeleine, a couple on the run from the cops. They're heading up to the California mountains, when Noah remembers a canyon, with a house right up on the hills - a place he'd used to call Shangri-La years back - so they decide to head there to hide out. They need to hide, since their trunk is filled with two blood covered suitcases, full of someone else's money...
