When Madeleine McGroughty was 19 she falls in love with a guy by the name of Tommy Cornelie they were soon married and not long after have a child. Tommy is a songwriter and singer but is struggling selling his songs and does not earn much money selling bubble gum. They live a simple life and are very happy but then when Madeleine is given a glib idea that she can become a movie star it goes right to her head to the cost of her simple happy married life.
