At Long Beach, it's a sunny afternoon, and Tommy has been delivering magazines and signing up some new customers. He's a careful boy, and always looks both ways before crossing. Unfortunately, the driver of a Ford Sedan is not so careful, and has careened down the road, and struck poor Tommy at the corner of Pacific 8th Street. The driver failed to stop or report the incident - and never even realised he'd hit him because he was so drunk.
