Mary Wesley, girlfriend of Boston Blackie has gone to the library to see a rare book when a lady already in the vault, Vivian Peterson comes screaming up the stairs that a man in the vault has collapsed and to call an ambulance. In all the commotion it appears that a very rare and valuable book has been stolen. Mary becomes suspicious when Vivian Peterson decides to leave town.
