This is a Thanksgiving play which was first aired in 1950, 330 years to the day of the true events in the story.  

On November 21st in the year 1620 a band of cold, sick, hungry and desperate men gathered on the deck of a ship riding at anchor off of Cape Cod. There on that day signed the first charter of American liberties and civil responsibilities. The document is now known as The Mayflower Compact. This is their story with Walter Hampden playing the part of William Brewster and Douglas Fairbanks that of John Alden.
