State Executioner

State Executioner

Broadcast: August 17, 1943

Tonight's psychological drama is a play in which the principal part is taken, not by the character himself, but by his thoughts. The voice is that of Samuel Jones, the state executioner for his majesty, George III. He sits silently, alone in a dismal room, and these are the thoughts which are torturing him... "I want to be dead, dead, dead. When I'm dead I'll have peace, peace. I've got to have peace. Kill myself. Yes. Bullet in my heart. No pain. Not Hanging. Hanging hurts. All i want is peace, peace."
