Reprising their film roles, Charles Laughton plays the role of Admiral Steven Thomas and Brian Donlevy plays Lieutenant Commander Roberts in this Radio adaptation of the 1942 Metro Goldwyn Meyer picture also known as Cargo of Innocents. It is set during WWII and is about a destroyer the USS Warren brought back from a ships graveyard and recommissioned to serve her country in its neediest hour. It is the story too of the Warren's officers Lieutenant Commander Roberts commanding the Warren, of Lieutenant Masterman commanding executive officer and of Admiral Steven Thomass who recommissioned the Warren.
