Oath Harker has a bad reputation for handling horses and took a fine stallion from Dan Stokes in lieu of money owed to him. Later Harker beats the horse half to death and when Marshall Matt Dillon and Chester discovers it they take the horse to the livery stable and vow to find out who would treat a horse this way.
