Winston Churchill said, “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few…” This play Spitfire was based on the first of those few, RJ Mitchell the designer if the spitfire fighter plane which enable a comparative handful of English boys to repel the Nazi hoards during the terrible blitzes of 1940.
At the end of the show tributes are paid to Leslie Howard who
produced and directed the story and who also played the leading
role of Mitchell.
Leslie Howard was one of the brave heroes who lost his life in
service to his country in June 1943.
