It is the night of December 6th 1921 and in Moses auditorium at Grand Avenue at 16th street the annual police ball is being held. Clad in severe black and white evening dress and accompanied by their ladies in dazzling colorful gowns the guardians of the law are at this moment being lead by Mayor George E Cryer in the grand march. Immediately behind the mayor is Police Chief Charles E Jones. Just as the March is drawing to a close an attendant approaches the chief with an important telephone call from Head Quarters.
