Sideman tells the story of a young medical student Roscoe Dodds who plays the trumpet and wants to be in the music business. He is overheard practising one night by bandsman Speek Wickham who is very impressed and gives the boy a break even though Roscoe admits he can’t read music.

Includes some wonderful jazz music.
