Showboat presented by Lux stars the same three actors from the 1936 movie of the same name, Irene Dunne as Magnolia, Allan Jones as Gaylord Ravenal and Charles Winninger as Captain Andy Hawks. The story begins on the Mississippi river in the year 1880 when the Showboat, a floating palace of entertainment, named the Cotton Blossom arrives.
