Our story begins in Saul's general store, in Valley City. Lefty Curtis opens the door and breaks the terrible news to his boss, Mr Hammond, that close to a hundred sheep have been driven into Sweetwater Canyon and killed. The men suspect it's the ornery cattlemen behind the killing, but Mr Hammond's daughter Peggy is sweet on one such cattle man, and she won't hear a word said against Pete Lambert...
