Rosalind Russell reprises her 1945 motion picture comedy role as eminent psychiatrist Dr Susan Lane. While traveling on a train she meets Michael Kent a cartoonist and creator of the "Nixie" a character who sits on your shoulder putting ideas in to your head and telling you what you should do. Michael Kent falls in love with Susan and tries really hard to make her fall in love back but he just can't get her to say yes. Then she starts hearing the voices of the little "Nixies" and there's nothing she can do about it!
