George Valentine is board the palatial luxury cruiser Southern Star under false pretences and the three musicians who hired him are so nervous they play wrong notes on the truth. However, the voyage is well on the way now and it is no secret that there is somebody aboard who doesn’t want Valentine around somebody who has already tried to get him off ship, somebody who has something to do with a dangerous bit of smuggling.
